and half a time
...Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I
Jesus also said, "I must work the works of Him who sent me while it is day...", and that
his food (or sustenance) was to do the work of him that sent him, and finish his work.
What work of God was it that Christ so urgently needed to complete...a mission so critical
that the undertaking of it both energized and sustained him?
We know that God completed his creation of the heavens and earth, and rested from his
work on the seventh day. But some four thousand years later, we see God again referenced
as commencing another great work. This work involved God in Christ, reconciling the
world back to himself. And according to the Gospel of John Chapter 6 verses 28-29, the
work that God wanted accomplished, and that Christ Jesus was laboring to complete, was
that people would believe on Christ whom God had sent. Why was this mission so
critical? Because, except men believe that Christ is in the Holy One - the Deliverer - the
Redeemer, and payment for our sins, they are doomed to perish in an unregenerate state.
Christ said, unless ye shall believe that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. And God is not
willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. God and Christ
working together: The righteous and heavenly team which includes the Holy Ghost,
is working together to draw the hearts of men to repentance.
Moses had prophesied to the Israelites that God was
going to raise up a Prophet unto them like unto him,
from among their brethren, and that He would put His
words into that prophet's mouth, and Israel was to hear
that Prophet (Deuteronomy 18:15)
The Synchronization of Holy Teamwork in Motion
Christ told Israel, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son
can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father
do: for what things soever he doeth, these also
doeth the Son likewise. For I have not spoken of
myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a
commandment, what I should say, and what I
should speak. The word which ye hear is not mine,
but the Father's which sent me.
The apostles confirmed in their testimony and
epistles that Jesus was that Prophet spoken
of by Moses, David, and the prophets in the
Old Covenant scripture...Jesus exhorted the
people "to search the scriptures...they
testify of me...", and that he came to do the
Father's will, and that in the volume of
the book (meaning the entire
compendium of scripture) it was written
Speaking of the Holy Ghost, Christ
said, Howbeit when he, the Spirit of
truth, is come, he will guide you into all
truth: for he shall not speak of
himself; but whatsoever he shall
hear, that shall he speak: and he will
shew you things to come.
He shall glorify me: for he shall
receive of mine, and shall shew it unto
you. All things that the Father hath
are mine: therefore said I, that he shall
take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
In John 14:31 we hear Jesus say he loves
the Father and does exactly what the
The Spirit of Truth - The Holy Ghost - comes
to dwell inside our temples, enabling us to live
a holy life as witnesses in a dark world doomed
for judgment and destruction.
The infilling of the Spirit was promised
first to Judah and the whole house of
Israel, and has also been poured out on
believing Gentiles who repented and were
baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus
Because repentance and faith
combined with the infilling of the
Holy Ghost results in a new creation
in Christ Jesus, the saved Gentiles of
the ages are able to be grafted in to
the Commonwealth of the House of
Israel. Twelve thousand saints
representing each tribe will be sealed
with the Holy Ghost as a pure
witness during the three and half
years of severe testing just prior to
the bodily return of the Lord Jesus
The ministering angels of God are yet
another critical component of the Holy Team.
They are described in the Book of
Hebrews as ministering spirits, flames
of fire - sent to minister to those who
are destined to inherit salvation. They
are God's servants and His alone to
command. They move back and forth
between the spiritual and natural
realms, protecting the saints and
assisting in executing God's plan. The
Book of Daniel shows that when the
prayers of the saints are heard, these
powerful entities are dispatched. They
often encounter resistance in the
spiritual realm from the kingdom of
darkness before executing their
|The Workmanship of God:
The Body of Christ
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ
Jesus unto good works, which God hath before
ordained that we should walk in them. Ephesians
God is faithful, Jesus Christ is Faithful and True,
and the Holy Ghost is committed to be with us
forever. The righteous angels are in full allegiance
to God and obedient to His every command. How
much more should we - the saints of the Most High
God -be diligent to glorify God in the earth and in
our temples of flesh? It is only our reasonable
service to present our bodies a living sacrifice, holy
and acceptable to God.
This is achieved not through attempts to keep the
Mosaic Law, but by loving God with all our heart,
soul, and strength, and our neighbor as ourself, and
bearing the nine fruits of the Holy Ghost - love,
joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
We-the believing saints -are the final component of
the Holy Team.
|How We Know We Have
the Victory: God Continuing to
Develop and Refine Us By His Word
There is no reason for us to practice a lifestyle of failure and habitual sin with such a powerful
team behind us. But we have even more. The guiding charter, mission statement, and official rule
book - the revealed scriptural word of God - enables us to know God's heart, understand the
tremendous impact and purpose of the life, death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, and
steer clear of the many pitfalls that abound in this world.
As we look into the perfect law of liberty and continue therein, we will be blessed in our deeds.
For those who have obeyed and sought God for the outpouring/infilling of his Spirit, God is
working mightily in us according to the same power that raised Christ from the dead. He is also
working all things together in our lives for good, whether we can perceive it or not. God tests and
tries our hearts - not that He might know - but to reveal to us what we are and how much we need
him. As we align ourselves with the word and let it bring forth fruit in us, we too, are able to
execute works in the earth. Works of righteousness we do however, are not for the purpose of
"earning" our way into right-standing with God. That work was executed by Christ Jesus' death
on the cross. Works we do are for the purpose of letting our light shine before men, that they
might glorify God in the day of visitation.
|No Work Is Forever...Sabbath is Coming!
We Work Now, To Rest Forever!
So we are working out our salvation with fear and trembling, and being careful to continue in good
works which glorify God in the earth and demonstrate to the world that THERE IS A GOD IN
ISRAEL, and HE IS THE ONE TRUE GOD, and that IT IS THE FATHER'S WILL THAT ALL
MEN WOULD COME TO HIM THROUGH HIS SON, CHRIST JESUS. Especially during the
three and half years of tribulation, a dying world and many who are in the valley of decision will
need a clear witness. Expect to die for Christs' sake to give that witness, but from then on you will
rest from your labors and your works will follow you. There yet remaineth a rest to the people of
God. Let us labor therefore, to enter in to that rest. Then, the ENTIRE team will celebrate, rejoice,
and fellowship together forever.
